Analyse I Identify I Develop I Support
Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI) including information suppression concern a series of threatening behaviours in the information domain and represents a major challenge, in terms of counteraction and the policy-making in this matter. Numerous FIMI operations carried out by state and non-state actors aim to domestically threaten fundamental rights and freedoms and could as well produce threatening effects in the respective countries and beyond.
What we will do. Check out our project objectives on the following slides:
1. RESONANT analyses activities and incidents.
How FIMI and specifically information suppression worldwide was and is used by countries outside the EU in a systematic manner as part of their policies.
2. RESONANT identifies tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) belonged to information suppression and catalogue them.
How certain communities are being targeted by information suppression and how FIMI actors try to coopt them.
3. RESONANT develops a comprehensive understanding.
How to protect human rights and freedoms from FIMI.
4. RESONANT provides support.
Knowledge on of how to detect and analyse TTPs, policy recommendations for vulnerability reduction and information suppression, as well as target protection and a comprehensive handbook.
